Five Seas Capital
Our Leadership
Rick Kollhoff, MBA – Chief Consultant
Rick believes strong communities are built on local investment, local jobs, and local control. That’s why he has dedicated his career to supporting the financial well-being of his community, and it’s why he provides the same support to rural communities across the country.
When he started his commercial lending career in 1990, banks were more local, and lending was more personal. Over time, consolidation and commoditization have made it harder for innovative businesses to access the financing they need. Too many good borrowers no longer fit the big bank credit template.
By specializing in USDA-guaranteed commercial loans, he is able to guide deserving companies through a complex process most lenders avoid. At the same time, he helps community banks, credit unions, and CDFIs level the playing field against regional and national competitors, keeping capital, opportunity, and decision-making at home.
His leadership extends beyond finance, with a strong commitment to community, including service on dozens of charitable and municipal boards. Passion for education—and the positive generational change it creates for families and communities—led him to the Chattahoochee Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees and the Bartow County (GA) College and Career Academy, where he served as a founding board member and led the process of writing the BCCCA charter.
Rick founded Five Seas Capital to bring his extensive lending expertise directly to business owners, helping them navigate financing challenges with confidence and clarity. His personalized, hands-on approach ensures that each client receives the attention and guidance necessary to achieve their financial goals.
